Last week was pretty bleh. Tuesday I did laundry most of the day after class and then I went to see The Departed. It was one of those really bad but really intriguing movies that boys like. Like in a way I'm glad I saw it, but I have no desire to see it again. But I would recommend it for boys. That whole night was a little iffy....
Wednesday was okay...bible study was good and internship meeting was good. But that night I started feeling really bad...which was really bad because I had a test Thursday morning. I studied for a little while but after a while I just had to go to bed...I felt horrible. So I didn't study as much as I wanted to, and I didn't get up as early as I wanted to the next morning. I was the last one to get there and the last one to leave. And I still felt bad so I didn't do as well as I should have. After that I went back to bed. I woke up after a while and went to the nurse to get some medicine. I didn't go to any of my other classes. I just slept and watched movies in bed all day.
Friday I felt better, but I think it was because I hadn't really been eating. Then my mom came. :) It made me really happy. I had to do a little homework for a while but then we went to dinner, where I didn't eat much, and then to the play. It was amazing. There are some talented people here at Harding, let me tell you. I went to the bonfire after that and then to Ellie's room to try to get chapel seats, but it wasn't working. When I went downstairs on the way to my room I saw my roomate and the girl across the hall running down the hall. They were like "We're going to Taco Bell, wanna come?!" At this point it was almost 10 till 1. Okay. So we went to Taco Bell and just barely made it back for grace period. It was fun and spontaneous.
Saturday I got to sleep in and I woke up for lunch at Grandpa's. My stomach felt much better so it was delicious. Then Mom and I went shopping. :) I got some new jeans and a new jacket. I love them. Then we went to see my aunt and uncle and cousin who were here for the weekend. Then we went to dinner at IHOP and ended up staying for a really long time.
Then I went to play soccer. It was really good this week. There were a lot of people at first but after "halftime" it was good. I hurt my bad knee a little but I don't think it's too bad. I came back and watched Smallville since we got to set the clock back.
This morning we went to church at Downtown and then Mazzio's for lunch. It was really crowded. Then Mom left...it was pretty sad. But I came back to my room and watched some more Smallville and took a nap. We were going to play "invitation only" soccer tonight but supposedly everyone was too tired so I haven't been doing much tonight. Tomorrow I'm going to be in some commercial for Harding. I get to miss all chapel and all my classes. And I'm getting paid $8/hour. I'm pretty excited.

I stayed up too late last night. Today was exhausting. I tried to stay awake in history by studying french....it didn't work. It really seems impossible to stay awake in that class.
I skipped lunch to sleep and study some more. The test wasn't too bad. When we were doing the oral part I was really proud of myself for understanding so much. I understood almost every word he said. Of course he was talking really slow and I was hardcore listening, but it still made me feel really good. I didn't finish but I got to go back after bible to do the last section.
Then I went to sleep. For a while. Until dinner actually. It felt really good. Brittany and I ate in the student center because she lost her ID. I'm amazed at how good those cookies are. They are possibly the best cookies I've ever had.
I've been trying to do my internship assignment since then. It's really hard since I'm a political idiot and I'm supposed to be writing about the current political and economical situation in Thailand. It's hard for me to actually learn from things like this. Although, I have learned that there's some kind of rebellion against the government going on now. I'm not completely sure but I don't think it's dangerous anymore, but it still makes me a little uneasy.
I did get to talk to Lucy and Willa tonight. I really miss them a lot. I wish I weren't so far away.

So you would think that I would have more time on my hands during "Club Week" since I wasn't pledging a club, and I would therefore be writing regularly. Not so. The week still had an effect on me, just in different ways.
Basically, I was really happy I didn't pledge until Friday night. All week people were so stressed and tired and acting crazy and stupid and I'm glad I got to see it from the outside first. And I'm glad that I have a better idea of what the clubs are really like now.
But Friday night, when everyone was doing the final official pledging stuff....I was bored out of my mind. It took them all night. And I mean ALL night. Melissa and I had no friends. But Ted and David were in town, which made the night somewhat more bearable. We did go to the soccer games and for some reason they reversed. The guys won and the girls lost. The rest of the night was kinda complainy and uneventful.
Last night however, was extremely eventful. I slept until 3....even though I was only up until 3, but whatev. Everyone else slept that late so I had to fit in with the crowd. I didn't do much for a while but then we went to Wal Mart and got pumpkins and went to carve them at the park. It was really fun but cold and dark by the time we got done.
Then we went to Casa Brava for dinner, which was much better than I expected. The chips and salsa/cheese dip was exceptionally delicious. Tacos aren't that great, but I'll try something else next time. Then things really got interesting....we decided to go to the corn maze.
Brittany was tired and didn't want to drive so I drove her car, since Joseph had my car. Everything's going fine until I see blue lights behind me. Less than 5 minutes before I had said "I don't know what the speed limit is here." Turns out I was going 66 in a 45. I could barely even talk to the cop I was so nervous. He was asking me all these questions and I was shaking and I couldn't think straight so I was stuttering and tripping over my words all while trying not to cry. To make things worse Brittany didn't have a current insurance card. Of course he gave me a ticket. I'm supposed to go to court Decemeber 19th. That's after finals so I don't even know if I'll be here.
It took about 2 minutes to get to the corn maze after that. It was still a lot of fun. It was good to be doing something to take my mind off it. Otherwise I probably would have broken down and cried and been upset the rest of the night. Instead I got to sneak around and scare everyone while trying to find the exit. I actually ended up scaring these people that I didn't know...it was kinda funny.
We went to Highway today and it was pretty good. Then we went to Arby's and Ted and David left. Then I finished reading Redeeming Love, which was one of the best parts of Pledge Week (getting to read something I actually wanted to read). Then I slept and went to Sears' open house. Boys in the dorms still weirds me out. Then there was downtown and homework and studying for my french test tomorrow. I'm nervous, I'm not gonna lie.

I've been busy. And I forget...Thursday I skipped my 8:30 and chapel and slept until 11. It was really nice and very much needed. And Bible was cancelled Thursday and Friday because Mr. Miller was at the world missions workshop. So all I had Thursday was french lab, which wasn't bad. Friday I went to the guys' soccer game. They were winning at halftime, so I thought they might have a chance...nope. 1-4. They're terrible.
Then we played soccer, which is always fun, but also always painful. This week this girl kicked me in the back of my shin, but below my calf so there wasn't much cushioning. It hurt really bad, and it still does. And there's a bruise of course. But there were a lot of people....a lot of new people that I had never seen in my life. I didn't like it as much, but whatev.
Saturday I got to sleep in. We left around 2 or 3 to go to the lakehouse, which is actually a riverhouse. It was absolutely wonderful. It was just this cute little cabin right on the river and we just went down to the dock and relaxed...it was nice. And then I made a fire and we had a weenie roast. I was very proud of myself. I'm not even a girlscout.
Then we contemplated going to the corn maze, but it would have taken a long time to get there and we'd get back late so we decided to wait until this weekend when Ted and Jill come. We made brownies and watched Mr. & Mrs. Smith instead. Then Savannah left and we fell asleep to Mean Girls, although I didn't exactly fall asleep. See, there were 4 of us in one bed. It was okay for movie watching....but not for sleeping. And I just don't sleep well with others I've decided. I move around too much and I think I have sleep claustrophobia. I ended up getting on the floor around 1 or 2...even though there was another bed across the hall. I still didn't sleep much.
But we got up and went to early service at Downtown. Then I skipped lunch and slept all afternoon. And when I say all afternoon, I mean ALL afternoon. It felt good.
It's officially "club week." I have many mixed feelings. It's kinda funny to see everyone all decked out in their club colors, but when it comes to getting a chicken biscuit from the student center, I'm somewhat annoyed. I had to literally push people out of the way to get to Chik-fil-a. I've never seen that many people in the student center....I think I'm going to avoid it the rest of the week. I'm glad I decided not to do a club though. But there's always the slight chance of next year...who knows.

My alarm clock didn't go off...again. I woke up at 9:30, which means I missed my 9 o'clock, which was really bad because we were reviewing for the test Friday. I can't believe I did that...
I didn't doze off in chapel today. Not even a little. Maybe because I got that extra hour and a half of sleep...but whatev.
I was out in history of course, but I didn't take a nap before lunch today, which is a big deal. I ate lunch in the Student Center today because I found out yesterday that I still have almost $150 left in DCB. I'm thinking I'm going to be getting a smoothie every day for the rest of the semester.
But I got this chicken sandwich because it looked really good and I usually get chicken nuggets so I wanted to mix it up and be different....baaaaaaad idea. It was disgusting. I think it was the pickles...
After Bible Brittany and I went to Maurices....goooooood idea. They had a 75% off rack....I got 2 tank tops for less than $6. It was awesome.
Then I ate pb&j because I was hungry because I didn't finish the grody sandwich I had for lunch. And then I took a nap. Then I went to my bible study and then the internship meeting. It's pretty official that I'm going to Thailand this summer. Kind of exciting, but also kind of disappointing because there's a really awesome group of people going to Togo. And I'm also going to miss Honduras....but I'm sure that Thailand is going to be amazing. I'm just a little nervous about it right now.
So then Brittany and I did pilates....and by that I mean Brittany did pilates while I ate my not-so-easy easy mac. It's just impossible to do pilates with her. She makes the funniest noises....I can't even describe it.
But then I went upstairs to get notes from Savannah and they were watching She's the Man...I knew I needed to study....but I stayed anyway. It was hilaaaaaarious. It might be going on the Christmas list. Along with a Maurice's gift card so I can get some of the pretty things that weren't on sale today.
Quote of the day: "I feel like an awkward baby!"

I did a lot of nothing today. I went to my 8:30, but I skipped chapel and slept until lunch. After lunch I did a little homework and then got on the computer and completely forgot about my bible class. I'm still kind of in shock that I did that....because it's EVERY DAY....and I just wasn't paying attention to the time.
But then I decided to be crafty and I made a card and a birthday sign. They're pretty rad, I'm not gonna lie. After dinner I slept again. But then I called home and got to talk to my family. The best part was that Bekah Tran was staying at my house because her parents went out of town, so I got to talk to her for the first time since I've been here (because I'm a terrible friend).
Then I got consumed by the internet...but Momma Baker just had her baby!!! It's a boy!! WOO HOO!!!!

I slept hardcore in chapel today. Brittany wasn't there to keep me awake. I was out.
I saw Christy Morton in the student center and started walking with her and after we'd been talking for like 10 minutes this guy walked by and was like "Is that a birthday package?" Yep, it was her birthday, I had been talking to her for 10 minutes, and I didn't even know it. I'll make it up to her.
I slept for a while and then went to the caf to grab some food to go and there was absolutely nothing. There was something crappy in the daily line, the line for omelettes and waffles was ridiculous, and there was no pizza out. I ended up getting a really crappy sandwich. bleh....
I took it out to the front lawn where they were doing a fundraiser for the Friends program. I should have gotten $5 and just ate the pizza they had there....but Tanner and I sat on the swing for a long time and had some good talking. Then Stephen played, and then I went to do laundry at Audrey's. We watched this old movie called Fear with Reese Witherspoon and the guy from The Italian Job. I have not yet decided what I thought of it...

Sleeping in was good. Heber was good. Barbeque was good.
Went to the soccer game after....suprise, suprise, we lost. Our guys suck. Came back and finished science homework and went to bed.
I didn't know what the deal with church was because I couldn't get in touch with Stephen, so I set my alarm for 10. Stephen called at 9:15 this morning and said we were going to downtown at 11 so I changed my alarm to 10:15. For some unknown reason, it never went off. So Stephen called again at 11 wondering where I was....I was able to get ready in 10 minutes but we were still 15 minutes late to church. Got a little grief for that. But I liked Downtown. It might not be too big...
But we went to lunch at the chinese buffet, where I ate way to much. We went to the dollar store after that and I realized how much I like that place. Then I came back and napped for a few hours. Went to downtown, did some homework and now I'm going to bed.

I thought I was going to be late for my 9 o'clock and a few minutes after I got there this lady came in and said Mr. Carr was going to be 15 minutes late. Everything else was pretty average.
After bible I had to take this guy from my class to the doctor to get this shot so he doesn't get kicked out of Harding. We had some interesting conversations. He's from Jamaica.
Then we played on the front lawn for a little while and went to dinner at Mazzio's. And then we went to Melissa's brother house and watched Medea's Family Reunion. It was one of the worst movies I've ever seen but there were a few good lines. Like "I'm a thug....I shot Tupac!"
But then we went to play soccer. There were only 4 girls, which is a lot less than last week. So from the beginning I knew it was going to be a little rougher than usual. And indeed it was. I left feeling very sore and I'm sure there will be many bruises tomorrow. I can't complain because a lot of it I caused myself. Like when I totally whiped Drew out. That made me feel a little bad...but then I remember the huge bruise that he gave me last week and I didn't feel so bad.
Tomorrow I get to sleep in and then we're going to Heber and then there's a barbeque at Melissa's brother's house. I heard my grandmother's in town this weekend....so I'll probably be going to church with her Sunday. Sounds like another good weekend to me.

Today we played with liquid nitrogen in Physics. It was so awesome. It made me wish I understood chemistry. We put it in this cup and held a racketball in it until it froze. This guy took it out and threw it against the wall and it shattered. I don't know if you know much about racketballs, but they're pretty rubberish and they don't shatter. The coolest thing to me was when he poured it out on the ground and it hopped around a few seconds like sizzling water and then just disappeared. It blew my freaking mind.
I slept until my french lab, and we went outside again for my bible class. It was amazing outside today. Then I read a little of Redeeming Love and fell asleep again until dinner with Jaclyn and Anna. And Brittany of course. Then I went to the volleyball game where we totally dominated once again and then to the DGR football game where they lost.
Then Courtney, Heath, Craig, and everybody got here so I hung out with them a little while. I told myself I was going back to my room to do homework, but then I remembered that Mama Baker said she was coming by to check out shower again because it wasn't clean this morning. There's something you should know about our shower. It hasn't been draining very well. When I took my shower last night it came about a third of the way up my calf. Not good. So I got a hanger and held my breath as I scraped out all the hair and grossness that had been building up. And after all that the water still wouldn't drain. So I just went to Wal Mart and got some Draino. It worked. So our shower is temporarily fixed...until the hair builds up again.
Then Katy and I decided that tonight was the night to finally put up our pictures. We got a really good start on it. Pictures make me so happy.
My body is getting old. It seems like my back or my knees are always hurting.
This morning I woke up feeling pretty poopy. My nose was really sniffly and my throat hurt. But I went to class anyway and it got better as the day progressed.
When I finished my classes today I decided that I wanted to go shopping. So I went shopping. And I bought my very first "little black dress." And it just so happened that I got my first credit card in the process also (had to get that extra 15% off). It's very pretty. I just need somewhere to wear it now....
After dinner I took my fourth nap and then went to bible study and then to the internship meeting. It appears that there's a chance I could end up in Thailand this summer. It's there or Togo....but we'll see. Hopefully I'll know by the end of next week, but I should know for sure by the end of the month. I'm pretty excited. They're very different places and I'd be doing very different things, but I know either one is going to be amazing.
I also finisehd season 5 of Gilmore Girls tonight...I screamed. I need season 6 now.

I got wrapped up in Gilmore Girls last night and forgot to post...season 5 is nearing its end and I just couldn't tear myself away.
Friday night I played soccer until 1 in the morning. I got a few nice-sized bruises and I scored. So it was a good night. I was supposed to spend the night with Bree but I got back so late I didn't have time to get ungross and get stuff to go so I stayed in my room...by myself because Katy went home for the weekend.
Saturday I slept until 1 and then was lazy and then went to see Belles and Beaux again. They had blowy uppy thingies and we played on them and it was fun. Then we went to the football game which bored me out of my mind so I left after the first half. Brittany and Jenifer and I watched Hitch and played in the dryers. :)
Sunday Jenifer and Steven and I went to this church in Kensett. It was all old people...except for this one couple with their 7ish year old daughter. And by old I mean I'm pretty sure, with the exeption of the couple and their daughter, that we were the only ones within at least 30 years of our age. They were very friendly but I'm not sure how much longer that church is going to last.
But that afternoon we went to Heber and jumped off the cliffs. We were the only ones too. I mean it was such a beautiful day, I expected there to be a ton of people there, but there were only a few other people that were even at the park, and we were the only ones getting in the water. It was very peaceful though. I liked it very much.
Yesterday I got my French test back that I took on Friday. I got a B, which is better than I expected but not as good as I wanted. Nothing else too significant happened that I can remember other than visitation for clubs starting....but that doesn't really have to do with me since I'm not pledging.
This morning, as I was walking to my 8:30 I got the day started off with a good laugh. Most classes start at 8 or 9 so there usually isn't anybody walking around at 8:30, which was quite a shame this morning. I was coming up on this tree when I noticed there were 2 squirrels chasing each other around the tree. Then they raced up the tree and were scampering from one branch to the other and making all kinds of funny squeaks and grunts, which made me chuckle a little in itself. But then, one of the squirrels fell. From like 15 high, landed on its back and made a squeak like those squeaky dog toys make. There was no one around to laugh with me, so I laughed out loud by myself. Because it was hilaaaaaarious.
Then on the way back from that class this squirrel started running at me with a nut it its mouth and stopped about 5 feet away and just starred at me. Then, on the way to lunch, there was this squirrel like a foot away from the sidewalk a little ways ahead of us, but it didn't move when we walked right past it. It could have easily kicked it across the grass....which I thought about doing. But I resisted.
I also went to the volleyball game where we totally kicked bottom, but it was quite a squirrely day. I'm convinced they are possessed. Fear them.
